Kate is a Senior Associate at Hamish Cumming Family Lawyers. She has worked exclusively in family law for over 15 years and appears as an Independent Children’s Lawyer in family law proceedings.

Kate joined Hamish Cumming Family Lawyers in 2009. Prior to this, Kate was the Young Lawyer’s Representative of the Northern Territory Law Society and a councillor of the Northern Territory Law Council. She was on the board and volunteered for the Top End Women’s Legal Service in the Northern Territory. She has also volunteered for the Inner City Legal Centre in Sydney. 

Kate graduated with Honours with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts in 2005 and was admitted to practice as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW in 2006. Prior to her admission, and during her studies, Kate worked as a paralegal within the family law jurisdiction.

Kate is a member of the family law section of the Law Society of New South Wales, the family law section of the Law Council of Australia and is on the panel of Independent Children’s Lawyers.
